1. What this policy covers
This process accepts notices alleging: copyright infringement in any file, PDF, question bank, image, or text we distribute; trademark concerns about how a vendor or exam is named or depicted on CertForge; and any other intellectual-property claim relating to our catalogue or site.
2. How to file a notice
Send an email to the designated contact above (or use the contact form) including, as applicable under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3):
- Your contact details (name, email, phone, company if applicable).
- Identification of the work or mark claimed — the copyrighted work, or the trademark and registration if claimed.
- The exact material to remove: URL(s) on this site, or exam code / file name, so we can locate it unambiguously.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and (for copyright) that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
- Your signature (physical or electronic).
Incomplete notices slow things down for everyone; we will tell you what is missing rather than ignore you.
3. What happens after you file
- Step 1 — acknowledgement. A human confirms receipt within 48 hours; the ticket is flagged as a legal notice internally and cannot silently age out.
- Step 2 — assessment. We identify the material and assess the claim. Valid or facially plausible claims lead to removal or disabling of access while assessed.
- Step 3 — resolution. We confirm action taken to the notifier. For copyright removals we handle counter-notices per § 512(g): after 10–14 business days without a court action, restored material is noted to both sides.
- Step 4 — pattern fixes. Where a complaint reveals a category problem (an entire vendor's naming, a badge, a file type), we fix the class, not just the instance.
4. Counter-notices
If your material was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice with your contact details, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury of a good-faith belief in the mistake, and consent to jurisdiction. See process step 3 for restore timing.
5. Trademark-specific requests
Brand teams: if your concern is how your mark appears on CertForge (a vendor tile, an exam-code reference, page metadata) rather than file content, say so — those requests are typically resolved same-week by switching the affected vendor to our neutral monogram badge, adding noindex, or amending copy. Start at the trademark notice for how marks are used on this site.
6. Abuse of this process
Knowingly materially misrepresenting a claim (under § 512(f)) or using this channel for competitor harassment may result in recovery of costs and suspension of the notifier's channel. We still read every notice in full before judging.
